Initially, 250 copies of Cube Quest were made and first sold at the 2002 Classic Gaming Expo. These did not include an overlay as stated on the box. Later, Sean Kelly would revisit the packaging and create a manual with undated artwork as well as offering an overlay of screenprinted-equivalent quality. All pieces were offered separately or as a complete package.
